YSRCP chief and former CM of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been accused in a deadly road accident. A police officer said on Sunday that the incident happened when former CM Reddy was recently visiting Rentapalla village in Palnadu district. During this time, an elderly person lost his life after coming under the wheel of Reddy’s car.

Guntur District Superintendent of Police (SP) S Satish Kumar held a press conference late on Sunday night. During this, he said that on June 18, Jagan Mohan Reddy had gone to Rentapalla to meet a member of the YSRCP leader who committed suicide a year ago. Former CM’s vehicle passed through Etukuru bypass. During this, the elderly Singaiya was seriously injured after the former CM hit the vehicle. He was rushed to the hospital, but the doctors declared him dead. The SP said, “After analyzing various evidences, it was found that the deceased was seen under the wheels of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s vehicle.”

Case filed on the complaint of the elderly’s wife
At the local police station, a complaint was lodged by Chili Lurdhu Mary, wife of the elderly Singaiya, on the basis of which a case was registered under Section 106 (1) (careless death) of BNS. The SP said that after analyzing CCTV footage, drone visual and circumstantial evidence, the police confirmed that the deceased was crushed by the former CM’s vehicle in the convoy. Following this confirmation, the police included Section 105 (culpable homicide) and BNS Section 49 (Ukasana) in the case and intensified the investigation into the circumstances involved.

Other accused included them
SP Kumar told reporters that the other accused include Jagan Mohan Reddy’s driver Ramna Reddy, Private Assistant Nageshwar Reddy, Senior YSRCP leader YV Subbareddy, former MLA Prani Venkataramaiah and former minister Vidadala Rajni. He said that his names have been added to the list of accused and legal action will be taken according to the appropriate process and law.
