Compared to the last season, many things can be seen changed in IPL 2026. Kolkata Knight Riders has appointed Abhishek Nair as its head coach (KKR New Head Coach). Now Lucknow Super Giants has come into discussion, which has already included Kane Williamson and Bharat Arun. Now media reports have revealed that the LSG team is considering making Yuvraj Singh the head coach.
According to a report published in Inside Sport, LSG franchise has approached Yuvraj Singh with the intention of making him the head coach. It is being told that Justin Langer has failed to make a good connection with the local players of the Lucknow team. In such a situation, the franchise can turn to an Indian coach.
Yuvraj is not yet associated with any professional cricket team, but has been active in scouting young talent. Yuvraj had a big role in the discovery of Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma, both of whom have become an integral part of the Indian cricket team today. Yuvraj is also grooming Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, who made a splash with their powerful batting in IPL and Indian domestic cricket.
Last year, Yuvraj Singh’s name was linked to Gujarat Titans. There were speculations that Ashish Nehra might leave Gujarat, in such a situation the rumors gained momentum that Yuvraj might become the head coach in his place. Apart from this, it was also claimed that Yuvraj can become the coach of Delhi Capitals by replacing Ricky Ponting. But later it came to light that Hemang Badani had been appointed the coach of Delhi.
Lucknow Super Giants have been ranked seventh in the points table in the last two seasons. Lucknow team has appointed Bharat Arun as bowling coach for the next season. Kane Williamson has joined the team as an advisor.
