Young Indian batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal was taken to the hospital on Tuesday after suffering severe stomach pain during the day. Jaiswal was playing for Mumbai against Rajasthan in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Pune. Mumbai won by three wickets in a thrilling match. According to the Times of India report, Jaiswal had to be admitted to Aditya Birla Hospital due to severe gastroenteritis. The 23-year-old batsman scored 15 runs in 16 balls as Mumbai chased the target of 217 runs.

The report further states that Jaiswal was having stomach cramps throughout the match and his condition worsened after the match. He was given ultrasound and CT scan at the hospital and was given proper medical aid. Later he was advised to continue his medication and take adequate rest.

Talking about the match, in the Super League Group B match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Mumbai defeated Rajasthan by three wickets, thanks to Ajinkya Rahane’s unbeaten inning of 72 runs and Sarfaraz Khan’s stormy 73-run inning played in 22 balls.

Rahane scored 72 runs (7 fours, 3 sixes) in 41 balls, but while chasing the target of more than 200, Sarfaraz batted brilliantly and scored 73 runs in just 22 balls, hitting seven sixes and six fours.

Chasing 217 runs, Mumbai did not let its pace slow down and achieved another spectacular victory despite the continuous fall of wickets. Thanks to Rahane’s brilliant innings, Mumbai achieved the target with 11 balls remaining.

Despite the dismissal of Jaiswal (15) after the opening partnership of 41 runs with Rahane, Mumbai did not stop chasing the target. After this, Rahane along with Sarfaraz made a partnership of 111 runs in just 39 balls for the second wicket.

Sarfaraz played a stormy innings, in which he hit powerful sixes all around the ground, but Manav Suthar (4-0-23-3) dismissed him. Due to this innings, Mumbai’s batting faltered and wickets kept falling one after the other.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi (0) and all-rounder Sairaj Patil (4), Suryansh Shedge (10) and captain Shardul Thakur (2) could not provide any support to Rahane, but he got support from Atharva Ankolekar.

Ankolekar, who came to bat at number eight, scored 26 runs in nine balls by hitting three sixes and one four, due to which Mumbai was again in a strong position. Rahane, along with Shams Mulani (4 not out), led defending champion Mumbai to victory.
