The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) ended on Friday with a call to work together in this period of uncertainty. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, who participated in the five-day meeting, said that India’s performance in the meeting was very good. The world’s top companies have reiterated their commitment to invest in India. The amount of investment is around Rs 20 lakh crore. The next WELF Annual Meeting will take place in Davos on 19-23 January 2026. Let us tell you that this time India had made two pavilions in the meeting. More than 100 CEOs and other top leaders of India participated in it.

Vaishnav said, in Davos we presented the possibilities of our global geo-political and geo-economic scenario in a brilliant manner. Despite all the disruptions and all the issues that the world is facing, India has emerged as a very trustworthy country. He said, we have clearly shown to the world that under all circumstances India is a country that believes in peace, development for all. The Maharashtra delegation led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis signed 61 investment MoUs worth Rs 15.70 lakh crore. It has the potential to create 16 lakh jobs.

Telangana secures 20 investment MoUs

The Telangana delegation led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy secured 20 investment MoUs worth Rs 1.79 lakh crore based on data centres, green energy and cutting-edge technologies. These are expected to create around 50,000 jobs. Kerala emphasized its transformation into an industrial hub driven by progressive government policies. Kerala Industries Minister P Rajeev held over 30 one-on-one meetings at the Invest Kerala Pavilion and highlighted the state’s investment potential in various sectors.

Announcement of investment of $ 250 million in India’s beverage sector

Uttar Pradesh demonstrated its ambitious vision to transform into a $1 trillion economy and secured investment commitments worth several thousand crores. Union Minister Chirag Paswan said global beverages giant AB InBev has announced an investment of $250 million in India’s beverages sector across various states. Global fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company Unilever, operating as Hindustan Unilever in India, announced the setting up of two new manufacturing units in Telangana. Many other global companies explored the possibility of partnership with Indian companies.

More than 3000 people from 130 countries took part

The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum was attended by more than 3,000 global leaders from politics, business, academia, civil society and other sectors from 130 countries. More than 500 sessions were discussed in this meeting. There was intense discussion for five days on many other issues including politics, economy, climate and war.
