In Ganjam district of Odisha, a widow woman has been arrested for burning her landlord alive. The police gave this information on Sunday.
The incident took place on Thursday in Subhash Nagar area under Baidyanathpur police station area. According to the police, the accused woman Sudeshna Jena (57 -year -old) set Harihar Sahu (72 -year -old) on fire by putting kerosene in her room. Harihar Sahu was a retired revenue inspector. It was reported that the woman committed the murder with the intention of grabbing property.

‘There was complete exemption to come and go in the landlord’s room’
Harihar Sahu lived on the first floor of the house, while the accused woman lived alone at the bottom floor. One of her daughters lives in Hyderabad and the other in Ambapua (Barhampur). According to the police, the woman had complete exemption to visit Sahu’s room. On Thursday morning, he entered his room and put kerosene on him and set it on fire. While pretending to extinguish the fire, the woman took help from the neighbors and claimed that two unknown people entered the room and set Sahu on fire.
Information about the incident to daughter during treatment
After the incident, Sahu was first taken to MKCG Medical College. Then he was taken to SCB Medical College in Cuttack, where he died during treatment. During treatment, he told his daughter that someone had set him on fire by putting kerosene on him. His daughter Madhusmita Sahu lodged an FIR at Beidyanathpur police station on the same day.

Dead used to forcibly make physical relations with woman: police
Investigation revealed that the accused woman and the deceased had relations for the last five years. Police said that the deceased woman used to forcibly call her to have a physical relationship and the woman also had an eye on her property. Police said that the woman planned the murder in a planned manner and threw the deceased’s mobile into the courtyard of the house to erase the evidence and thrown a bottle of plastic kerosene into the fire.
