WhatsApp Media Hub Feature: In India, WhatsApp is not just a messaging service but it has also become a medium to store everything from photos-videos to links-documents. On WhatsApp, users save their important documents like Aadhaar card, copy of PAN card or ration card, copy of bank pass book or insurance premium certificate etc. However, for this the user had to go and search the chat in which he had sent or saved all these things. Now WhatsApp is introducing a new Media Hub feature through which users can get a completely new experience of finding and managing the content sent in their chats and can instantly find shared photos, videos, documents, links, Gifs etc.
Media Hub feature rolling out for some WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp for Mac users
Initially, this feature is being provided for WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp for Mac users so that they can get all the shared media at one place. This includes important things like videos, photos, documents and links and the biggest advantage is that for this you do not need to go to different chats every time. The idea behind bringing this great feature in this instant messaging service of Meta is to save the users from the difficulty and long time taken in finding their files.
WhatsApp is launching a centralized media hub for its web clients.
Some users of WhatsApp Mac and WhatsApp Web have started seeing this media hub feature. This information has been received according to the report of feature tracker WABetaInfo. According to this, it will be easy for you to view your shared recent images, videos, photos, GIFs, links and documents without opening any individual chat. Through this, users will be able to manage their latest files according to size through this Media Hub feature. This Media Hub feature was first seen in the development phase in May this year and now this feature has been available to some WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp for Mac users.
How will this media hub feature work?
WABetaInfo’s report includes a screenshot of the Media Hub feature, which only shows recent media. A dedicated button located in the sidebar provides quick access to the Hub. That being said, users can search for files using the integrated search bar, which includes filters such as the name of the contact who shared the file. Users will also be able to search for a media file by its caption or date sent.
