Will the demands of the agitating BPSC candidates in Bihar be fulfilled by Prashant Kishor’s fast? Know the latest updates on Patna movement – bpsc protest patna prashant kishore on hunger strike to fulfill students demand nitish sarkar MP pappu yadav commented

Prashant Kishore on Hunger Strike: The students’ agitation regarding alleged irregularities in the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination is becoming bigger day by day. Many leaders of the opposition party are supporting this movement of students, one of whom is Jan Swaraj Party founder Prashant Kishore. Prashant Kishore, who joined this movement a week ago, has now sat on a fast. Pappu Yadav, MP from Purnia, Bihar, has called this movement a gimmick.

MP Pappu Yadav called the fast a sham

Pappu Yadav, MP from Purnia, Bihar, recently gave a big statement regarding BPSC students and their struggle. He said that Rahul Gandhi will soon come to Bihar in support of BPSC students. Taking aim at Prashant Kishore, Pappu Yadav said, “Prashant Kishore is just doing a gimmick in Gandhi Maidan. He is a cyber bird and Natwarlal, whose fast unto death is just a show.”

He alleged that Prashant Kishor pretends to go on a fast unto death by eating food the whole day, but why doesn’t he sit with the children? Pappu Yadav further said, “If Prashant Kishore was truly concerned about the students’ struggle, he would have protested along with the children and not just create this drama for the media.” He said that rail and road blockade will be organized in Patna and also said that if necessary, Bihar Bandh will also be observed on Saturday, so that the voice of the students can be conveyed to the state government.

Does Prashant Kishor want to remove the resentment of the students?

Prashant Kishor’s hunger strike could also be to remove the anger of the students. In fact, on 26 December 2024, thousands of candidates along with Prashant Kishore gathered at Gandhi Maidan in Patna and started a protest demanding the cancellation of the BPSC examination. The protesters raised slogans of ‘Cancel the BPSC exam’ and protested against it. After this, at around 4 pm in the day, students under the leadership of Prashant Kishore reached JP Golambar to march towards the Chief Minister’s residence. However, after some time, Prashant Kishor left the protest site, while the protesting students kept waiting for hours to go towards the Chief Minister’s residence.

Meanwhile, water cannon and lathicharge were used by the police on the agitating students. This action of the police spread anger among the protesters and they started raising slogans of ‘thief-thief’ against Prashant Kishore. He alleges that Prashant Kishore left him. The protesters believed that Prashant Kishor supported them only to gain political advantage, while he did not pay proper attention to their problems. However, after this Prashant Kishore’s clarification also came out. He said that I had gone to meet the agitators last night and talked to them. I had full participation in whatever happened, but despite the allegations, I made no attempt to run away from anyone.” I was lathicharged 45 minutes after I left Gandhi Maidan. I did not move away from there, but after I moved away, I was lathicharged. Those who resorted to lathicharge have said that Prashant Kishor has been a part of the movement since then and has also announced to sit on a fast, but the Nitish government has not yet withdrawn its decision. And tomorrow i.e. on 4th January, the examination of the candidates of Bapu Center is to be held.
