After the retirement of the Government of Bihar Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, the new Chief Secretary will be the entity nectar, who is originally from Gopalganj. He is currently the Development Commissioner, before that he was the Principal Secretary of the Health Department of Bihar.

While being the DM of Katihar, he implemented the Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model for the district hospital. While being the DM of Chapra, he banned vulgarity at the Sonpur cattle fair. It was also made mandatory to install CCTV cameras in theaters.
He became the first IAS officer to become the chairman of Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited. When he took over this responsibility, the corporation was struggling with the financial and management crisis, but this corporation made unprecedented progress under the leadership of the affiliation Amrit. During his tenure, a network of roads and flyovers was laid throughout the state and the campaign to provide electricity to every village gained momentum. He has done remarkable work in important areas like road connectivity, rural electrification and urban development.
Award for excellence in public administration from Government of India
Pratyas Amrit is the only IAS officer of India, who was selected in 2011 through the Government of India for the Prime Minister’s Award for excellence in public administration in the individual category. From November 2001 to April 2006, Amrit was on central deputation in New Delhi. He left it in the middle only six months before the scheduled time limit of working in Bihar.
Pratyas Amrit also learned tribal language Santali in Dumka during IAS training. As a subdivision magistrate in Simdega, Amrit busted gambling racket in remote villages.
