WhatsApp has come up with a new way to access your encrypted backups through passkey support. It simply means that if your device is lost like if your phone is lost then you can get your chats back by using some methods like fingerprint, face or using screen lock code. To access the data of the old device, you will be able to use the fingerprint, face or screen lock of the old device. This can be done through the new passkey option of WhatsApp, with the help of which you can get your chats back safely without any problem.
It will become easier through passkey option
For many years, WhatsApp did not have an encryption layer for its chat backups, but in the year 2021, Meta introduced the option of an end-to-end encryption to protect the backup data of its users. In this, either the users had to remember the password or they had to remember the 64 character encryption. The problem with this system was that you had to remember or keep your backup password or 64 character encryption handy so that you could restore the backup. However, now through the passkey option you will not need password or encryption.
What information has WhatsApp given?
WhatsApp has said that this feature will be rolled out for its users in the coming weeks or months, so you will have to keep an eye on this feature to see when it becomes available to you. WhatsApp crossed the mark of 3 billion users in May and its users are continuously increasing.
