WhatsApp Working on a new feature that will make managing storage easier than before. According to a latest report by WabetaInfo, WhatsApp is bringing a new chat clearing feature which will be visible on its latest Android 2.25.34.5 beta update. Users using this version will find it very easy to delete messages or media of a specific message and specific media category.
New feature will come with real-time storage display
According to the report, a new bottom sheet interface for deleting messages has been introduced in the latest Android 2.25.34.5 beta version. There is an option to see exactly what has been deleted before confirming the action. This will help users decide what they want to remove from a chat instead of the entire conversation. These can be documents like photos, text messages, videos or special files. This feature comes with a real-time storage display that shows how much space will be freed up after deletion. This is especially helpful in group chats, where large video and audio messages can quickly accumulate.
While deleting a chat, Star will ask about saving the message.
Not only this, through this new update it has also become easier to manage your starred messages while cleaning chats. For example, if you want to clear the entire chat but want to save the starred messages or media, asking for an extra step will make it easier. For example, if you’ve starred an image, file, or important note in a conversation, you’ll now get a prompt asking whether to keep or delete them before completing the cleanup.
WhatsApp also made it easier to find this feature
Apart from this, WhatsApp has also made it easy to find this feature. The ‘Clear Chat’ option now appears at the bottom of the Chat Info screen, just like it works on iOS.
When will you get it?
The new chat clearing update is currently available to a limited number of beta testers on Android. WhatsApp plans to gradually expand its reach before making it available to all users in the coming weeks.
