Players playing in Ranji Trophy do not get monthly or annual income but they get paid on daily basis. The league matches of this Indian domestic cricket tournament last for 4 days, but the knockout matches are played for 5 days. The salary for playing Ranji Trophy also depends on how much experience a player has.
Salary for playing in Ranji Trophy
If a player has played 41 or more first-class matches in his career. If such a player gets a place in the playing XI, he gets a daily salary of Rs 60,000. Reserve players with similar experience get Rs 30 thousand per day. Whereas if a player has experience of 21-40 matches, then he gets Rs 50,000 per day for playing in the playing XI and reserve players get Rs 25,000.
If a player has played 0-20 Ranji Trophy matches, then his daily income becomes Rs 40,000 just by making a place in the playing eleven. Players who do not get a place in the squad get Rs 25,000 per day. Let us remind you that when BCCI came up with a new policy on salaries last year, it was revealed that under this policy, if a player plays all the matches of the Ranji Trophy season, he can easily earn Rs 75 lakh.
