Oyo Hotels has taken a new decision, in which it has been said that now rooms will not be given to unmarried couples. This rule has been started from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh and there is a possibility that it can be implemented in the entire country. But the hotel operators of the district say that they have not received any such order yet.
At the same time, in Meerut, mixed reactions of youth are being seen on this decision of Oyo. Some are calling this decision right and considering it a good step for the society. Whereas, many people are calling it an interference in freedom and are opposing this decision. On the other hand, some people also believe that Oyo has taken this decision to promote its company and make the IPO successful.

On talking to the local people of Meerut on this issue, mixed reactions were seen. Some people are with the decision and some are against it. According to the supporting party, if two people want to live together as per their wish then no one should have any problem in it, while the opposing party says that this step of Oyo is absolutely right, it will improve the society. Taking room using fake identity will also stop.
Amidst all this, many Oyo Hotels operators in the district said that they have not received any official information yet. We have been giving rooms only as per the prescribed rules. Due to the new decision only online booking will be stopped. However, if the couple is an adult then booking will take place. This decision will only harm Oyo. For now, it will be interesting to see how this decision of Oyo is implemented across the country and what effect it has on people.
After the new decision of Oyo, when the team of ‘Aaj Tak’ reached the place in Meerut where a few days ago the local people had protested against the opening of Oyo hotel in the populated area, the residents there said that this decision is very right.
