The winter session of Parliament has got off to a stormy start. There was an uproar from the opposition on the issue of SIR. Samajwadi Party national president and MP Akhilesh Yadav has hit back sharply at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘delivery, not drama’ jibe at the opposition.
He said that the process of ‘Voter List Correction’ (SIR) should be done seriously and not be considered a ‘drama’. Akhilesh also raised the question whether the deaths of BLOs (Booth Level Officers) are also ‘drama’?

Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav said that democracy will be strong only when our right to vote is not taken away from us. SIR’s concerns are becoming true today. If votes are cut off, how will anyone fulfill his dream? I have received information that they (BJP) have hired big IT companies in Noida and through them they have the details of the voter list (in UP). It is going on. SIR is not meant to strengthen democracy but to cut votes. Are not even able to fill the BLO form on the ground. Many of them are under stress. When there is no immediate election in UP, why so soon?
