Recently, an FIR was lodged in the film ‘The Bengal Files’ and its makers in West Bengal. FIRs were lodged by several members of Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (TMC) against the film’s director Vivek Agnihotri, producers Pallavi Joshi and Abhishek Aggarwal. But the High Court, while hearing his petition, has imposed an interim stay on the FIR.
This decision of the court has brought great relief for Vivek, Pallavi Joshi and Abhishek Aggarwal amid growing political stress. The FIR against ‘The Bengal Files’ lodged at Lake Town police station has currently been banned. Justice Jai Sengupta, while staying all the action related to the case, has ordered that no action should be taken against Vivek Agnihotri and others till 26 August. Now the next hearing of this case will be held on August 19.

Please tell that Vivek and his wife Pallavi Joshi are currently on the US tour. In fact, ‘The Bengal Files’ is being premiered abroad before releasing in India on 5 September. It started in 10 big cities of America in New Jersey on 19 July and will end in Houston on August 10. Vivek shared some glimpses of the New Jersey Premier on his social media, in which people were seen crying and clapping.
The story of ‘The Bengal Files’ is written by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Aggarwal and Pallavi Joshi. The film is based on the Direct Action Day in West Bengal.
The film was previously named The Delhi Files-Bangal Chapter.
The film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher and Darshan Kumar in important roles. The film, presented by Tej Narayan Aggarwal and IM Buddha Productions, is part of Vivek’s ‘Files’ trillion, including the first ‘The Kashmir Files’ and ‘The Tashkent Files’. The film will be released in theaters on 5 September 2025.
