Lost the title twice in a row
Only the World Test Championship (WTC) title could not be added to Kohli’s list, while the team reached the final twice. The Indian team reached the finals under the captaincy of Kohli in the first cycle of the 2019-2021 World Test Championship. At that time, New Zealand defeated the team in the rain -interrupted match and the team missed out on winning the title. After this, the team led by Rohit Sharma also made it to the finals of the WTC 2021-23 cycle and Kohli had a chance to become champions at that time, but the team was defeated by Pat Cummins-led Australian team and once again Kohli could not hold WTC’s mace.
