There has been a severe devastation caused by cloudburst in Dharahali of Uttarkashi, after which the administration is constantly doing a rescue operation. A quick deployment of senior police officers and special police forces has been done by the Uttarakhand government for disaster relief work. Of these, 300 police personnel including two IG, three SPs, one commandant, 11 deputy SP have been dispatched.

Keeping in view the seriousness of the natural disaster in the Dharali area of Uttarkashi district, the Director General of Police has immediately deployed senior police officers and special police forces to run relief and rescue operations effectively. So that relief work can be expedited. These officers have been dispatched immediately.

Two IG three SPs posted in Uttarkashi

Senior Police Inspector General of Police SDRF Mr. Arun Mohan Joshi, Inspector General of Police Garhwal Zone, Mr. Rajiv Swaroop, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Rai, Mr. Amit Srivastava (First) and Mr. Surjit Singh Panwar, Mrs. Shweta Choubey, 1 Deputy Commandant and 11 Deputy SP have been sent to Uttarkashi, who will lead to relief and coordination works.

Also, to make disaster management more empowered, 140 soldiers of the 40th Corps PAC (E Company) and IRB II, Dehradun’s C Company have also been sent to Northkashi.

Rescue operation intensified

In addition, a total of 160 policemen (from inspectors to reserve levels) have been sent to the affected area with necessary disaster relief equipment from Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri and Tehri districts, so that the local administration can be given rapid support to the local administration.

The purpose of these quick, coordinated and strong efforts is to make relief, rescue and rehabilitation work done with quickness and effectiveness by minimizing loss of life in the disaster affected area. Efforts are being made by the administration to provide assistance to every affected person as soon as possible. The police force has been instructed to do 24 × 7 continuously relief and rescue operations.
