After a conversation between the US and Ukraine representatives in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, the US has decided to remove the ban on sharing intelligence with Ukraine and resume security assistance. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that now he will put this proposal before Russia.
Rubio, citing US President Donald Trump, told reporters, “The President wanted the war to end tomorrow. Therefore, we hope that Russia will answer in ‘yes’ as soon as possible, so that we can reach the second phase of this.”

The US took this important decision when Ukraine and US officials on Tuesday started their talks in Jeddah to find a way towards ending the war with Russia. The Jeddah talks took place a month after the US and Russian officials met in Riyadh, which was a rare encounter among the enemies before the cold war. The discussion was mainly focused on restoring relations after the former US President who almost completely banned the official contact under Biden.
