appeal for help from public
Providence Police Chief Col. Oscar Perez urged the public Tuesday to check their cameras for help identifying the suspect. The lack of cameras and clear video has troubled both officials and the community. Brown University President Christina Paxson confirmed that the university has 1,200 cameras on campus. But according to the police, there is no clear video of the firing inside the engineering building.
Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha said the investigation was progressing well. He appealed to the public to remain patient to identify the suspect. Many questions still remain regarding the reasons behind the firing.
