The US has given emergency visas to Indian student Neelam Shinde’s family. This was possible after the intervention of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. His father appealed to the Emergency Visa from the Ministry of External Affairs.
Neelam Shinde (35) was hit by a car in California on 14 February. After this she went into a coma. The accused driver has been arrested by the police. Neelam hails from Satara district of Maharashtra. Has been living in America for 4 years.
According to the family, Neelam is admitted in ICU. He has fractures in his hands and feet. There is a severe head injury. Hospital management has sought permission from the family for brain surgery. It is necessary for the family to stay there to take care of Neelam.
Neelam’s father demanded an emergency visa from the US embassy. The embassy called for an interview at 9 am today. Father Tanaji Shinde said that he had received information about the accident on 16 February.

NCP MP Supriya Sule came forward to help
The Shinde family was booking slots for visa application, but was getting the date of next year. After this, NCP (Sharad Pawar) MP Supriya Sule raised the matter on social media, as well as appealed to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for help.
