Storyteller Pundarik Goswami was given a guard of honor in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, after which there was an uproar over this incident. Taking cognizance of this matter, UP DGP has summoned the SP and sought his reply on the charges of violating the prescribed standards.
DGP asked for answer from SP
Giving information about this, UP Police posted on the official social media account X and wrote – ‘The Director General of Police has taken cognizance of the unauthorized use of the Police Parade Ground in a program organized in Bahraich district.
It is mandatory to use the Police Parade Ground only for police training, discipline and official functions as per the prescribed standards. In view of the violation of prescribed standards, clarification has been sought from the concerned Superintendent of Police.
Let us tell you that the narrator Pundarik Goswami had reached Bahraich district, where he was given a ‘guard of honour’ at the police parade ground. After which the video of this incident went viral on social media. After this video surfaced, political turmoil also started, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and ASAP MP from Nagina Chandrashekhar Azad raised questions on it and called it an attack on the Constitution.

SP President Akhilesh Yadav said that when the entire police department will be busy in saluting, the criminals of the state will remain happy. The police have failed in their work, they are not doing their duty. Instead of curbing crime and mafia rule, the game of Salaam-Salaam is being played.
Chandrashekhar Azad said attack on the Constitution
Meanwhile, Azad Samaj Party chief Chandrashekhar Azad, while targeting CM Yogi, said that India is not a monastery but a constitutional republic and the state is not the property of any particular religion. Pundarik Goswami, a storyteller, is given a parade and salute by the UP Police. This is not just an administrative mistake, but an open attack on the Constitution.
