The Delhi Transport Department has allegedly issued a license to Uber to operate its bus service in the National Capital Region. Buses are going to be involved in the company’s ride Heling service.

The Uber had earlier available only four wheelers for ride Heling service. Also, the company also operates bike ride Heling, and auto ride Heling service. But now buses have also been included in it. The rivals of the company include players like Ola Cabs, Rapido. Et of ET Report According to, Uber has received this license under the Delhi Government’s app based premium bus aggregator scheme.

The Delhi government’s app based premium bus aggregator scheme was launched in November last year. Under this scheme, the government wants to provide public transport to the people of upper middle class that people will get maximum convenience. That is, people can travel in buses like cabs and make their booking comfortably. This will also save people’s time, as well as booking rides in the bus instead of personal cab booking will also reduce the burden of vehicles on the roads.

Under the scheme, aggregators will have to set a dynamic price for this. This price should not be less than the maximum fare of DTC’s Air Conditions (AC) buses. Uber has earlier started such a bus service in Egypt. India will be the second country in which Uber bus riding service is starting. The American company has named it Uber Shuttle Service.

Talking about India, the company is currently operating its uber shuttle service in Kolkata. The company has been running a campaign for this for the last one year in Delhi. For this, the company is planning a route plan in Delhi which will connect the business area to the residential area. In this, all parts of Delhi will be almost covered. The bus will have a seating capacity of 19 to 50 people. Uber has more than 1 million drivers in India. India is the third country after the US and Brazil, inside which Uber has more than 1 million drivers.
