Italy Prime Minister Georgia Meloni’s meeting with Mozambique President Daniel Francisco Chapo in Rome last week has gone viral on social media.

During the meeting, the huge height difference between the two leaders caught everyone’s attention. When Meloni went ahead to meet President Chapo, she was a little surprised when she looked up, then smiled shyly and posed for a photo.

The height of 48-year-old President Chapo is about 6 feet 8 inches, while Meloni’s height is about 5 feet 2 inches. Due to this big difference, photographers found it very difficult to capture both of them in the same frame, many photographers bent down, while some started lying on the ground and taking pictures.

President Chapo is an avid basketball fan and has previously been in the news for his height in photographs with other world leaders. The meeting coincided with the 50th anniversary of Mozambique’s independence and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The two leaders talked about cooperation in important areas like energy, trade and development. This plan includes many joint projects like access to energy, sustainable agriculture, vocational training, digitalization and strengthening health services.

Trump imposes complete travel ban on 7 more countries; Ban on immigrant visas of 15 countries

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday imposed a complete travel ban on seven more countries. Along with this, a ban has also been imposed on Palestinians. Additionally, entry restrictions (permanent residence) have been imposed on 15 other countries.

The move has been taken citing national security, public safety, weak screening system and high rates of visa overstay. Earlier, travel restrictions or entry restrictions had already been imposed on 19 countries.

According to the White House fact-sheet, the new announcement imposes a complete travel ban on Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, South Sudan and Syria. A complete ban has also been imposed on Palestinians.

Additionally, Laos and Sierra Leone, which previously had a partial ban, have now been imposed with a complete ban. These new restrictions and limitations will come into effect from January 1.

Earlier, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem had said that the US administration is planning to expand the current travel ban from 19 to more than 30 countries.

At that time he did not reveal the exact numbers or the names of the countries. The US has already imposed a complete travel ban on 12 countries (Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen).

In the new announcement, partial entry restrictions have been imposed on 15 new countries (Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Dominica, Gabon, Gambia, Malawi, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Tonga, Zambia and Zimbabwe).

Partial sanctions on Burundi, Cuba, Togo and Venezuela will continue as before. Turkmenistan is the only country where the ban on non-immigrant visas has been lifted, although the ban on immigrant visas remains in place.

The announcement exempts lawful permanent residents, existing visa holders, diplomats, athletes, and those entering in the U.S. national interest, as well as case-by-case exemptions, but limits exemptions for family-based immigrant visas due to the risk of fraud.
