US President Donald Trump on Monday discussed Russia President Vladimir Putin over the phone over the Ukraine war. In a conversation with Trump for more than two hours, Putin said that the ceasefire is possible after the agreement between the two countries. He thanked President Trump for the talks.

According to Russian media, Putin and Trump had a conversation for more than two hours. The Russian President described the talks as important, clear and useful. He also thanked Trump for the role of America in re -starting a direct talks between Russia and Ukraine.
Prepared to work on a ceasefire agreement
Putin said that Russia is ready to work on agreements including ceasefire. He supports stopping the fight, but needs to develop the most effective steps towards peace.
The Russian President also said that his country is ready to work on an agreement with Ukraine to establish a ceasefire. He emphasized the need for agreements that all parties accept.
Putin said after the call that Moscow is ready to work towards ending the fight in Ukraine. He said that Russia is in favor of a “peaceful agreement” and both sides would need to make a favorable compromise. He described the conversation with Trump as “clear and meaningful”. Prior to Putin’s call, Vice President JD Vance said that if Putin seems to be serious about the conversation, Trump is free to retreat from trying to end the war.
