Karnataka truck drivers are going on indefinite strike against the rise in fuel prices. An organization of agitating truck drivers held talks with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. However, the talks failed. An official of the organization said that the indefinite strike of the truck drivers will continue. The Chief Minister appealed to the truck drivers to end the strike in the public interest, but the drivers asked the first demands to fulfill the demands. Demands include cutting diesel prices and concrete solution to toll issues.

Vehicles parked at truck terminals across the state due to strike
Explain that due to this strike, transportation of goods within and outside the state is being affected. According to the Karnataka State Lauries owner and Agent Association Federation (Foksloaa), the 129 Truck Association, the truck terminals were parked across the state due to the strike. Seeing the situation worsening, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah held a meeting with the officials of Foksloaa on Tuesday evening.

Tension due to bounce in fuel prices, drivers harassment
Foksloaa claims that in the last nine months, there has been a huge increase in the value -added tax (VAT) on diesel. The operating cost of transporters has also increased due to increase in the price of diesel by five rupees per liter. The toll plaza is constantly forcibly recovery and harassment. Truck drivers have to face unnecessary stress and financial burden. The government has also announced to increase the fitness renewal fee of old vehicles. This will kill small and medium operators.
Truck driver agitating against government
The Federation claims that admission prohibition restrictions in the capital Bangalore are unfair. Opening efficiency and timely delivery of goods occur. Non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) and microfinance institutions are harassing. Mental harassment of vehicles is being done illegally and mental harassment of vehicle owners. Due to these issues, truck drivers are agitating against the government.
How wider the truck strike
On the entire episode, All India Motor Transport Congress President Harish Sabharwal said, the initial response shows that the movement was successful. Trucks from any part of India will not enter Karnataka. Karnataka trucks will not go out of the state.

CM Siddaramaiah’s appeal after the conversation failed
Federation President GR Shanmugappa said that during the meeting with the CM, the protesters were adamant on the demand to reduce diesel prices, but the government rejected their demand. Federation General Secretary Somasundaram Balan said that the conversation has failed. Our strike will continue. A statement was also issued from the Chief Minister’s Office after the meeting. According to the government, in the budget, the fee on diesel has been increased by two rupees. The price of diesel in our state is lower than in neighboring states. The government is aware of the demands of the federation of truck drivers. The Chief Minister appealed to the truck owners to cooperate with the government and said that the government is making decisions in the interest of the poor.
