Speaker Biman Banerjee said that I have received a proposal, but I have not yet investigated or approved it. I will read it at the appropriate time and if I feel appropriate, I will send it to the Privilege Committee of the State Legislative Assembly. If I find the complaint baseless, I can also reject it. Explain that the proposal submitted to the speaker was in response to the statements of the officer given to the media, in which he claimed that the CM had praised Pakistan during his speech in the House, and that too with so much eloquence that his Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif never did so.

Mamta Banerjee attacked the center

The incident began when Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the Assembly, while addressing the House on a resolution, appreciated the armed forces for military attacks on border terrorist bases and launched a scathing attack on the Central Government over the incident of Pahalgam. He alleged that it had failed to provide security to the people of the country, demanding the resignation of the BJP -led government. CM Banerjee also said that during the military struggle, India had a golden opportunity to regain Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK), but it failed to take action decisively. He also questioned the efficiency of the diplomatic strategy of the BJP -led Center to surround Pakistan globally.

Opposition MLAs strongly opposed Mamta’s statement on this. Also demanded to include the word ‘Operation Sindoor’ in the proposal, which was clearly missing from the proposal.

Suvendu Adhikari made this comment

After this, the Suvendu officer criticized Mamata Banerjee while exiting the assembly. He told the journalists present there that the Chief Minister praised Pakistan. He too does not praise his country so much like Shahbaz Sharif himself. He insulted PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah while fighting for Pakistan.

What ahead of privilege proposal?

Regarding the proposal of privilege breach of privilege, an official said that if the speaker accepts the complaint, he will send the complaint to the privilege committee headed by Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Ashish Banerjee. After this, the committee can call the officer to speak in self -defense and decide whether any disciplinary action will be taken against him.

Significantly, three other BJP MLAs, including Suvendu Adhikari, were suspended by the Speaker for a month on the basis of disgrace in February this year.
