India’s first ai city: A big step has been taken towards making the country’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) City, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. Under the Central Government’s India AI Mission, a huge funding of Rs 10,732 crore approved in March 2024 has been received by this project. This scheme is part of the widespread efforts to make Uttar Pradesh the next IT hub of India.
From graphics processing unit to innovation center
Through this funding, 10,000 graphics processing units (GPU), multi-model language model and a state-of-the-art AI innovation center will be set up in Lucknow. Soon the state government is also going to present a wide AI policy format keeping Vision 2047 in mind. According to the government, this investment is 67% more than any technology infrastructure in the country so far.
AI will be used from traffic systems to prisoners monitoring
There is also a plan to implement a high-tech AI-based traffic management system in Lucknow. At the same time, Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is already working towards the AI-competent smart traffic system.
According to the information, under the state’s head ‘AI Pragya’ scheme, more than 10 lakh youth, teachers, village heads, government employees and farmers have been trained in AI, machine learning, data analytics and cyber security so far. This training is being done in collaboration with legendary tech companies like Microsoft, Intel, Google and GUVI.
Revolution in health too
AI is also being used rapidly in the health sector. The country’s first AI-based breast cancer screening center has been set up in Fatehpur district, due to which women are getting the facility of timely investigation. Many similar changes have to be made in Lucknow.
