The government has imposed a new ban on Allen Musk’s satellite broadband service. Jio and Airtel will get the benefit of this ban on Starlink before the launch. Union Minister of State for Communications Pemmasani Chandrashekhar has said a lot about the service of Starlink during the review meeting of BSNL. The Union Minister of State said that this new ban would not threaten the already existing players in the market such as BSNL or other telecom companies.

The government has banned Allen Musk’s company, saying that the company can sell a maximum of 20 lakh connections in India. Apart from this, it has also been decided to set the maximum limit of internet speed of the company. Starlink can provide broadband internet service to its users in India at a maximum speed of 200MBPS.

According to the PTI report, the Union Minister of State for Communications said that the limit of 200MBPS will not affect the telecom service. At present, Jio and Airtel dominate the broadband internet service in India. Both these companies provide broadband internet to users at speed up to 300Mbps. Due to Starlink’s speed 200Mbps, users will not leave these two telecom service providers. Regarding the pricing of Starlink Internet service, the Union Minister of State for Communications said that users will have to spend around Rs 3,000 a month for this.

Speaking on BSNL’s 4G service, the Union Minister of State for Communications said that BSNL’s 4G service rolls have been completed. At the same time, on the matter of making the company’s recharge plan expensive, he said that at present there is no plan for the government to do price hike.

Starlink is going to launch its satellite internet service in India soon. The company has received a final approval from the government and the SATCOM regulator recently. After spectrum allocation, the company can launch its broadband service.
