A new revelation has come to light in Mumbai Powai’s hostage scandal. Marathi film actress Ruchita Jadhav posted on social media that Rohit Arya, who had taken 17 children, two women and an elderly hostage on October 31, had contacted her a few weeks ago in the name of a film project.
Ruchita wrote – “On October 4, I received a message on WhatsApp. He introduced himself as a filmmaker and said that he was making a film on ‘Hostage Situation’. He asked for a date to meet and called me to a studio in Powai on October 27. But due to family reasons, I canceled the meeting.”
The actress told that when on October 31, she saw on news channels that the same Rohit Arya had been taken hostage and killed, she was stunned. Ruchita wrote – “I wonder, what would have happened if I had gone to meet him that day… even today that thought scares me.”
Ruchita also said that this incident has proved to be a big lesson for her. In future, whenever she has to meet a new person in connection with work, she will go only after taking complete information and informing the family.
Rohit Arya had taken 17 children, two women and an elderly hostage in the high-rise building of Powai. As soon as the information was received, the Quick Response Team (QRT) of Mumbai Police conducted an operation and evacuated everyone safely. In retaliation, Arya was killed in the encounter.
