During the hearing, a bench of Justice PS Narasimha and Justice Joymala Bagchi had said that the petition was filed in the High Court on April 7, but it was not heard.

After this, the bench ordered that the notice of April 1, 2025 issued by Nashik Municipal Corporation will be banned. The next hearing of the case was fixed on 21 April. Senior advocate Naveen Pahwa, who appeared on behalf of the religious site in the court, claimed that the matter was not listed in the High Court despite the effort.

The bench said in its order that in view of the specific statement of the senior advocate, we have taken extraordinary steps that efforts were made every day to list the case. We are uncertain about his statement that the High Court did not list the case despite repeated requests. This is a serious statement and the lawyer should take responsibility for the result of such a statement.

The apex court then directed the Registrar General of the Bombay High Court to send a report about the list of petition. The Supreme Court sought a response from the Nashik Municipal Corporation. Advocate Pahwa argued that a writ petition was filed in the High Court on April 7, 2025 and he was waiting for the case to be listed from April 8.

The apex court said that it has been clearly stated that the High Court has refused to list the case. We are unable to understand what happened from April 9 till today. Lawyers say that they are trying every day. The bench then sought answers from the municipal bodies and other authorities.
