Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Sub Inspector Geeta Samota has created a new history. She has become the first employee in the 56 -year history of the Central Industrial Security Force by climbing the world’s highest peak Mount Everest.

A CISF spokesperson said that Geeta Samota completed the 8,849 meter high mountain climb on Monday. Geeta stood on the peak of the world and it was a victorious moment. It was not only a symbol of personal victory, but also a symbol of India’s incredible passion and strength as CISF and nation.

Geeta Samota joined CISF in 2011. He is currently posted in the Udaipur Airport Unit of CISF. Geeta of Chak village in Sikar district of Rajasthan was initially a hockey player, but she was away from the game due to injury.

The spokesman said that the CISF did not have a mountaineering team at that time. Geeta took special training in mountaineering and in 2019 she became the first woman of any Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) to climb Mount Satopanth (7,075 meters) in Uttarakhand and Mount Lobche (6,119 m) in Nepal.

Along with this, between 2021 and 2022, Geeta Samota successfully climbed four inaccessible peaks. This includes Mount Cosiuszco (2,228 m) in Australia, Mount Albus ((5,642 m)) in Russia, Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 m) in Tanzania and Mount Ekonkagua (6,961 m) in Argentina.

Geeta Samota climbed four of the seven peaks in just six months and 27 days. She became the fastest Indian woman to do so. She also became the first woman to climb five peaks in the Roopashu region of Ladakh in just three days. This includes three peaks over 6,000 meters high and two peaks more than 5,000 meters high. The CISF said Geeta Samota has been awarded notable honors by the Delhi Women’s Commission for her achievements, including the International Women’s Day 2023 Awards and the Ministry of Civil Aviation, including Giving Wings to Dreams Award 2023.
