SUC will be different from license fees
According to media reports, Starlink may have to pay three percent of Spectrum Use Charge (SUC) of adjustable gross revenue (AGR) in India. Actually, Starlink will be allotted telecom airways. There will be no bid for this and the government will allot them under the law in 2023. Therefore, Starlink may have to pay 3 percent success. However, this may be more or less and the final rates have not been decided yet. This will be additional 8 percent of license fees. If this happens, customers will have to pay more money for the plan. So far, the information of the company’s plan has not been revealed, but it is believed that Starlink plans can be 10-15 times more expensive than Jio and Airtel.
TRAI is under consideration
Currently, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is considering the price of spectrum to be given to Starlink, its duration and other tax. TRAI may soon submit its recommendations to the Department of Telecommunications. The matter will go to the Digital Communication Commission and then the cabinet from the Department of Telecommunications.
Satellite internet service will provide Starlink
Starlink will start satellite internet service in India. It will be the first company to launch it in India. The company has partnered with Jio and Airtel in India. Both companies will sell starlink equipment in their online and offline stores. Apart from this, the possibilities of integrating each other’s services in the network are also being considered.
