Elon Musk’s company is awaiting approval from the Department of Telecommunications for commercial launch. Starlink Satellite Communications Pvt. Ltd. has registered its official presence in India. The company has taken office space on lease in Chandivali area of ​​Mumbai for the next 5 years. The company will set up its base station in 9 cities of India, which apart from Mumbai, includes cities like Noida, Chandigarh, Kolkata adjacent to Delhi.
Trial starts from today
According to the report, Elon Musk’s company took 1,294 square feet office space in Chandivali area of ​​Mumbai on lease for Rs 2.33 crore for 5 years. This is believed to be the first official presence of Starlink in India. Apart from this, the company is organizing technical and security demo runs in Mumbai from today on 30th and 31st October. During the demo run, the company will showcase the capabilities of its high-speed satellite internet network.
Through this trial, Starlink is signaling the beginning of a new era of internet connectivity in India. It is believed that with this service, broadband internet will be available even in remote areas of the country. After the trial, the outline for the commercial launch of Starlink in India can be decided. The company is awaiting government approval and spectrum clearance for internet services in India. According to experts, Starlink’s entry could trigger huge competition in the satellite internet sector in India.
Internet will work without network
After the launch of Starlink satellite internet service, users will be able to enjoy high speed internet services even without any mobile network. Starlink’s satellite broadband service will be especially beneficial for those areas where it is impossible to install mobile towers.
