Srikashi Vishwanath Dham will be completely plastic free from August 11. Especially plastic baskets and plastic lots will be banned. Devotees will also be appealed not to bring anything along with plastic baskets to the temple.
Vishwabhushan, CEO of Kashi Vishwanath Temple, said that use a basket made of jute and wood. Devotees reach the temple premises with water in a plastic bottle. Apart from this, Prasad, flowers reach in polythene and they leave all this in the premises. It causes difficulty in cleanliness.

Many times the plastic goes into the underground drain. Many times the drains are choke. The temple administration has taken this decision in terms of environment protection.
