Who are Pragya Satav?
Dr. Pragya Satav is the wife of late Congress leader Rajiv Satav. Rajeev Satav was the MP from Hingoli Lok Sabha constituency from 2014 to 2019. Rajiv Satav, considered very close to the Gandhi family, died due to illness in 2021.
Pragya Satav is the vice president of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee. Currently a member of the Legislative Council (MLC). She was elected unopposed as Legislative Council member in the year 2021 on the seat vacant due to the death of Congress leader Sharad Ranpise. After this, she was elected to the Legislative Council for the second time on behalf of Congress in the 2024 elections. His tenure is till 2030.

Responding to the news of Pragya Satav’s displeasure, Congress leader and Legislative Council member Satej Patil said, “Congress has made Pragya Satav an MLA. I do not think that she will take any such step. This news is baseless. As a party, we are in touch with her. I personally do not think that she will take any such decision.”
