Sheikh Hasina was counted by protesters on 5 August last year.

The Bangladesh government has decided to convert former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s old official house ‘Ganbhavan’ into a museum. It will be called ‘July Revolution Memorial Museum’.

Sheikh Hasina’s father and the first President of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, re -built this house. Earlier this place was known as Estate Rajbadi.

Ganbhavan is in Sher-e-Bangla city of Dhaka, which is near Parliament House. The Bangladesh government used it as an official house of the leader of the country.

Sheikh Hasina came to live here in 2010 and till 5 August 2024 i.e. 15 years this was her home. Last year, shortly after his coup, sabotage and robbery started here.

The protesters climbed the house of Sheikh Hasina.

The mob attacked and looted women’s clothes

The crowd looted saris, decorative items, watches, sofas, luxury handbags, televisions, fish and even women’s clothes from here. Pictures of robbery went viral on social media. The officials later claimed that the looted goods were refunded.

The interim government with the leadership of Mohammad Yunus, the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, announced Ganbhavan to make it a museum, describing Ganbhavan as a sign of misrule of Sheikh Hasina. This museum is being built in memory of the protesters killed in last year’s violence.

The Ministry of Culture of Bangladesh has proposed 200 posts for the management of this museum.

On June 5 in Bangladesh, the High Court implemented a 30% quota system in the job, protesting the students of universities in Dhaka against this reservation.

This reservation was being given to the families of freedom fighters. However, this reservation was later abolished by the Hasina government.

After this, students started protesting demanding his resignation. A large number of students and common people took to the road against Hasina and her government.

Two months after this Protest, he resigned as Prime Minister on 5 August. After this the interim government was established.
