Shardul Thakur Century Celebration Video: Shardul Thakur has staked his claim to return to Team India by scoring a century in Ranji Trophy. He has scored a century while playing for Mumbai in the match against Jammu and Kashmir. He completed his century for Mumbai in the second innings in 105 balls, during which he also hit 15 fours. Thakur had scored 113 runs by the end of the second day’s play. His innings came at a time when Mumbai had lost 6 wickets at the score of 91 runs.
Shardul Thakur came to bat at eighth position. Meanwhile, Mumbai’s 7 wickets had fallen till 101 runs. But meanwhile, there was a brilliant partnership of 173 runs between Shardul Thakur and Tanush Kotian which is still going on. Thakur completed his century in the 60th over of Mumbai’s innings and as soon as he touched the 100-run mark, he gestured towards the dressing room by beating his chest. During the commentary, the phrase ‘Lion of Mumbai Cricket’ was used for Thakur.
Shardul Thakur had scored unbeaten 113 runs by the end of the second day’s play. He had scored a fifty in the first innings also. Mumbai was struggling even to score 100 runs in the first innings, but thanks to Thakur’s 51 runs, Mumbai team was successful in reaching 120 runs. After that, he took 2 wickets in bowling also, but Jammu & Kashmir was successful in taking a big lead of 86 runs in the first innings.

Brought Mumbai out of defeat
Shardul Thakur has done the work of pulling Mumbai out of defeat. His century came at a time when 6 wickets had fallen in his second innings at the score of 91 and his total lead was only 5 runs. Thakur’s century not only saved Mumbai’s honour, it also made a strong comeback in the match.
