Shakti Kapoor talked about his personal life during an interview. He said that he always wanted a housewife and that is why his wife Shivangi left her film career. Actually, Shakti Kapoor married Shivangi, sister of actress Padmini Kolhapure. Shivangi was an actress and singer.
During a conversation with ‘Time Out with Ankit’, Shakti Kapoor told the story of his first meeting with wife Shivangi on the sets of the film Kismat. He said, ‘I met her (Shivangi), she was a child artiste. I was playing the role of an old man in the film. She is 12 years younger than me. We met, fell in love and I thought to myself, where will I find such a homely and beautiful girl?
Shakti Kapoor said, ‘One day I told him that my work is being disturbed. I need to focus, so she got angry. I went to him and begged him. I apologized and said I want to marry you. Also said that I want her to become a housewife. After this, we got married in the court. Later the family also accepted our relationship.
Shakti Kapoor then said, ‘He left his singing career and everything else for me. Till today I thank him with folded hands for this.
Shakti’s wife was an actress Shakti’s wife Shivangi Kolhapure was an actress in the 80s. He started his career with the 1980 film ‘Kismat’. Mithun Chakraborty and Ranjeeta were in lead roles in this film. Shakti Kapoor also worked in this film.
Both of them first met on the sets of this film. Both of them became friends and then fell in love. Finally both of them decided to get married.
