Russia has decided to lift the ban on deployment of small and medium -distance missiles. The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Monday (local time) that Russia now does not consider itself to be tied to the ban on the deployment of small and medium -distance missiles.

In fact, in 2019, the US was withdrawn from the medium -distance nuclear power treaty, in which it was done that the two countries would not deploy such missiles. Since then, Russia has been saying that he too will set up such missiles only when America does so. However, Russian External Affairs Minister Sergei Lavarov indicated in December 2024 that Russia would have to respond to the US and NATO’s ‘unstable actions’ in the strategic field.

America is deploying missiles in Europe-Asia-Pacific region
The Russian Foreign Ministry has said in its statement that since the real deployment of the US-made land-based medium and short distance missiles in Europe and Asia-Pacific region is developing. Therefore, Russia has pointed out that the conditions of unilateral ban on the deployment of equal weapons have ended. This means that now Russia has also decided to lift the ban on small and medium distance missiles.
