Rss: Karnataka High Court grants permission to Rss to march with this condition, Priyank Kharge said – permission only for one time – Karnataka High Court Grants Permission To Rss To March With Condition Priyank Kharge Said Only For One Time

Karnataka High Court on Thursday (November 13, 2025) gave permission to RSS to take out a march in Chittapur. The High Court gave this decision on a petition filed by the convener of RSS’s Kalburgi. The High Court gave permission to hold a march with 300 people and a 50-member band on 16 November.

Justice MGS Kamal recorded that permission to carry out the march had already been given by the Tehsildar of Chittapur with certain conditions. Last week, the state government had told the court that it would consider the petitioner’s proposal positively.

Karnataka government minister Priyank Kharge said on this order, “The government gave permission to RSS to take out the march in the High Court. RSS had not sought any permission from the government. He had informed the government to take out a march. It took a month for them to get the government’s permission. There are clear instructions regarding the march that there cannot be more than 300 people and more than 50 band members. Also, no person from outside Chittapur will participate. Most importantly, they cannot do anything of their own free will. This is allowed only once.”

During the hearing in the High Court, senior advocate Arun Shyam, appearing for the RSS, thanked the administration for allowing the programme, but requested for amendment in two conditions of the Tehsildar’s order. The petitioner’s counsel sought permission for 600 people to participate instead of 300 people and requested to increase the number of band members from 25 to 50.

Attorney General Shashi Kiran Shetty, appearing for the government, opposed this. He said that such marches have been taken out earlier also by the petitioner, in which only 100-150 people participated. However, he did not oppose increasing the number of band members. The High Court agreed with the argument presented by the state government. The court directed to increase the number of band members and allowed only 300 people to participate.
