The pain of MP and actor Ravi Kishan is visible. Ravi Kishan said that in his childhood, the work of 12 people had to be managed in a small kitchen. To fill everyone’s stomach, a lot of water was added to the khichdi. According to Ravi Kishan, he did not have a permanent house, but a hut, in which all the family members lived. Ravi Kishan said that the sting of poverty is still in his heart.
Still hesitant in ordering food from expensive restaurants Ravi Kishan said in Subhankar Mishra’s podcast – We used to live in a hut. All the land was mortgaged. I have seen poverty that no one can possibly imagine. A little khichdi was prepared at home. The quantity of water in it was increased so that all the 12 members of the house could fill their stomachs.
That poverty has affected me so much that even today I am unable to spend money openly. Even today one has to think before eating expensive food. I don’t even like to give my clothes to the laundry. I think I should clean it at home.
According to Ravi Kishan, he does not hold back in spending money for his family. Whatever luxury things they want, they provide them. Spending money just for themselves doesn’t seem right to them.

Worked without proper fees for 15 years Ravi Kishan said that when he came to Mumbai, he used to survive the whole day on Vada Pav and tea. Ravi further said- I have faced a lot of harassment after coming to Mumbai. Have worked for 15 years without proper fee. Perhaps it is because of these challenges that I am sitting in front of you today.
Why did Ravi Kishan remove Shukla surname? Ravi Kishan also talked about his surname in this interview. He told why Shukla surname was removed in the initial days. He said- Was not getting work because of Shukla surname. I needed money at that time. I didn’t go into too much detail as to what effect keeping or not keeping the surname would have.
Ravi Kishan has worked in approximately 750 films in his career. He is also a two-time MP from Gorakhpur parliamentary seat in Uttar Pradesh. Her work in the film Lapata Ladies, released last year, was highly appreciated.
