Ranya Rao Gold Smuggling Case Protocol Officers Pick Up The Actress Luggage for Vip Protocol at Airport Dri Tells Court

Ranya rao: Kannada actress Ranya Rao, arrested on charges of gold smuggling, received instructions from the seniors to the protocol officer who helped in avoiding investigation at the airport. The Director of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) said this to a court in Karnataka. DRI also told that Ranya used to get VIP protocol and that is why she managed to avoid investigation at the airport.

Ranya Rao, daughter of a senior police officer from Karnataka, was arrested earlier this month with gold worth Rs 12.56 crore from Bangalore Airport. Gold rods were found tied in a hidden waist belt on his body.

DRI told the court hearing Ranya’s bail plea that Ranya took advantage of the VIP airport protocol made for senior officials to avoid security check. Investigators claimed that a protocol officer used to go to immigration and also picked up the actress’ goods for fast-track security approval. In this way she used to escape from search at the airport.

What did Dri argue?
On behalf of DRI in the court, Special Public Progressive Madhu Rao said, “The police officer has admitted to the DRI officials that he had given VIP protocol to Ranya on the instructions of the department officials.” Please tell that the court has reserved the decision on Ranya’s bail plea. The court will pronounce the verdict on 14 March.

During the hearing, Ranya’s bail plea was opposed by DRI. Advocate Madhu Rao said that theft of custom duty of more than Rs 50 lakh is a serious offense. It belongs to Section 135 (1) (A) and (B) of the Customs Act, which makes it a non-bailable offense. He also argued that if bail is granted, Ranya can run away from the country and affect the witnesses.

Programkutor also said that Ranya came out of the airport through ‘Green Channel’ with the help of a protocol officer instead of ‘Red Channel’, which reflects his intention to avoid custom duty. She also said that Ranya, who has worked as an actress in three films, had hidden gold rods in her jeans, waist and shoes and also pasted her on her thigh through medical bandage.
