Recently Ram Gopal Varma’s film ‘Satya’ has been re-released. On this occasion, actress Urmila Matondkar termed the news of fight with Ramu as mere rumours. The actress said that her career was ruined not because of Ram Gopal Varma, but because of nepotism. She was always seen as an item girl or a sex siren.
Urmila has worked with Ram Gopal Varma in films like Satya, Jungle, Rangeela and Bhoot. Rangeela was a huge hit at the box office and this film established Urmila Matondkar as the ‘Rangeela Girl’ in Bollywood. There was a rumor in the industry that the actress was having an affair with Ramu, due to which she is in every one of his films. However, at one point, news of a fight between the two started coming.
Urmila Matondkar had said during an interview that despite doing many great films, in the 90s the media used to talk only about her looks and her personal life. People were interested in every aspect of his life rather than his acting.
Despite working in many great films like Pinjar, Kaun, Ek Hasina Thi, Urmila Matondkar was considered just an item girl in Bollywood. Urmila says- In the industry she was seen only as an item girl and sex siren. I did not belong to the industry, for which I had to bear the brunt.
On the occasion of the re-release of Satya, Urmila Matondkar has once again expressed her desire to work with director Ram Gopal Varma and actor Manoj Bajpayee.
