A major accident took place on Tuesday morning in Manoharpur police station area of ​​Shahpura subdivision of Jaipur rural district. A bus full of workers going to a brick kiln located in Todi village came in contact with an 11 thousand volt high tension line. Within a moment, a strong current ran through the bus and a fire broke out due to sparks. Within no time, the workers traveling in the bus got electrocuted and caught in the fire. Two laborers died tragically on the spot in the accident. About 12 workers sustained serious burn injuries.

According to eyewitnesses, at the time of the accident, the bus was reaching the brick kiln at Todi carrying laborers from UP. On the way, as soon as the upper part of the bus came in contact with the high tension line, there was a huge explosion and the fire spread rapidly. There was chaos after the incident. Hearing the screams of the workers, nearby people reached the spot and informed the police.

As soon as the information was received, Manoharpur police station and administrative team reached the spot and the injured were immediately admitted to Shahpura Upazila Hospital. After first aid, doctors have referred five seriously injured laborers to Jaipur for better treatment. After hard work, the fire department team brought the fire in the bus under control.

The police have taken the bodies of the deceased into their custody and sent them to the mortuary for post-mortem. The investigation into the cause of the incident has been started. In the preliminary investigation, the bus passing too close to the high tension line is being considered as the main reason for the accident. The administration has also ordered an investigation into the role of the brick kiln operator and the bus driver.
