Rahul Gandhi supports Trump for calling India ‘dead economy’, now the mirror is showing the statement of ‘loved ones’

Politics in India has been hot on the statement of US President Donald Trump’s Indian economy with dead economy. While Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi justified Trump’s statement, while senior leaders of his party Congress and allies of the coalition targeted Trump.

‘Should not bow down to US demands’

Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor and Rajiv Shukla stressed that India’s economy is strong. He emphasized that New Delhi should not bow down to the inappropriate demands of Washington DC. Congress ally Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi also criticized Trump and said that such a claim can come only with ego or ignorance.

We do not have a shortage of options- Shashi Tharoor

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor termed the US-India Trade Deal as challenging and said, “We are interacting with the European Union (EU). We have already made an agreement with Britain and are also interacting with other countries. If we cannot compete in America, we may have to diversify our markets outside the US. We do not have the lack of options.”

Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor said, “If America is adamant on its inappropriate demands then India should move to some other country. This is the strength of India. Like China, our economy is not completely dependent on exports. We have a good and strong domestic market.”

Trump is living in confusion- Rajiv Shukla

Rajya Sabha MP Rajiv Shukla said that the statement of Trump was wrong. He said, “Our economic situation is not weak at all. If someone claims that he can ruin us financially, it is his misunderstanding. Trump is living in confusion.” He also spoke on the US-Pakistan oil deal. He said, “We do not need to worry about America’s oil deal with Pakistan. No country can decide with whom we can do business and with whom.”

Priyanka Chaturvedi targeted Trump

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said that the Indian economy is one of the top five economies in the world. He said that calling it a dead economy can only come from a state of ego or ignorance. He said, “India has economic challenges and needs to work on per capita income, but its economic challenges are not equal to the dead economy. Trump’s statement is clearly a strategy to compromise.”

A few hours after announcing a 25 per cent tariff on imports from India, Trump said, “India and Russia can take their ruined economies into the trough together. I don’t care what India does with Russia. We have done very little business with India, their duty is very high.” He announced a fine on India for buying crude oil and military equipment from Russia.

Shortly after Trump’s statement, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in the Parliament House complex said that he agrees with the statement of the US President. They said, they (Trump) are correct. Everyone except the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister knows this. I am glad that President Trump put a fact in front of everyone. “
