Diljit told that when the trailer was released, many people said that I got emotional praising Imtiaz sir. But the truth is that there is a shot from the trailer that I shot myself. When it came on the screen, I felt Chamkila was looking at me… standing there. That’s why I cried.
We were shooting at the same place where Chamkila was killed. Diljit tells that Chamkila’s murder scene was shot in the film at the same place where Chamkila was murdered. As soon as the sound of the gunshot came, I felt like I was glowing. There was blood on my finger due to the instrument and two drops fell. Then it seemed that this was the place where Chamkile’s blood had fallen. At that moment Chamkila’s death was felt again. Diljit Dosanjh and Chamkila lived in Ludhiana only.
