Today is the second day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Oman. Today, in the presence of PM Modi, the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between India and Oman can be signed. Regarding this, Prime Minister Modi said that this agreement will infuse new confidence and enthusiasm in the India-Oman partnership in the 21st century.

PM Modi addressed India-Oman Business Forum

PM Modi, in his address during the India-Oman Business Forum program, said, this conference will give a new direction, new momentum to the India-Oman partnership and the relations between the two countries will reach new heights. The Prime Minister said, since the beginning of civilization, our ancestors have been trading with each other through the sea. The Arabian Sea formed a strong bridge between Mandvi and Muscat. This bridge strengthened our relations and gave strength to our culture and economy. Today we can say that the ocean waves change, the seasons change, but the friendship between India and Oman remains strong in every season.

‘The trade of both the countries will get new momentum’

The Prime Minister said that our relationship is built on the foundation of trust and has deepened with time. It has been 70 years since our diplomatic relations. The Prime Minister said, ‘Today we are taking a historic decision, the echo of which will be heard for many decades to come. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement will give new confidence and new energy to our partnership in the 21st century. This will give new momentum to business and create investment confidence.

PM Modi said that in the last 11 years, India has not only changed its policies but India has also changed its economic DNA. GST has transformed India into a unified market and the Insolvency Code has promoted transparency and increased investor confidence.

‘We respect Indian diversity’

PM Modi also addressed the Indian community in Muscat, the capital of Oman. During this, the Prime Minister said, ‘Today we have gathered like a family. There is diversity in India, which is the strong base of our culture. Every day brings a new color for us, every season becomes a new celebration, every tradition comes with a new thought. That is why, wherever we Indians go, wherever we live, we respect diversity. We get mixed with the culture there and the rules and regulations there. This is what I see happening in Oman today.

‘Diwali lamp will illuminate not only our home but the whole world’

PM Modi said, ‘India’s rich cultural heritage has recently received another wonderful honour. UNESCO has included Diwali in the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Now the Diwali lamp will illuminate not only our home but the entire world. This is a matter of pride for every Indian living around the world. This global identity of Diwali is a recognition of our light, which spreads the message of hope, harmony and humanity.

The Prime Minister said, today we all are also celebrating India-Oman ‘Friendship Festival’ here. This friendship festival is a celebration of the friendship between the two countries and our shared cultural and prosperous future.

Mentioned India’s rapid economic growth

PM Modi said that the relations between India and Oman started with trade and today education is strengthening them. PM Modi said that 46 thousand students are studying in Indian schools in Oman and among them are people from other communities living in Oman. After this, PM Modi mentioned India’s rapid economic growth and said that India remains the fastest growing economy in the world. PM Modi also mentioned the increase in the number of IITs, IIMs and AIIMS during the tenure of his government.

The Prime Minister also mentioned the achievements of India’s space mission and said that we are the first country to reach the South Pole with the Moon. He said that soon India will have its own space station. After this, PM Modi mentioned many other achievements of India.
