The Central Government has made it clear that any qualified farmers who are not yet associated with this scheme under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana will be given the benefit as soon as possible. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said this in the Lok Sabha. He appealed to all the state governments to identify such farmers and help them connect them with the scheme.
Agriculture Minister Chauhan said that if a farmer has been left so far, please help us in connecting him with this scheme. We will ensure that such farmers also get payment of their previous installments.
What is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?
Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan Samman Nidhi) is a scheme of the Central Government, under which the eligible farmers are given financial assistance of Rs 6,000 every year. This amount is given in three equal installments a year, in which Rs 2,000 is transferred directly to the bank account of farmers every four months.
The Agriculture Minister also clarified that all eligible farmers should be owned by land, their e-KYC should be completed and they will have to register on the PM Kisan portal.
He said, “We will ensure that the farmers get their money on time without a single delay. The Modi government is completely dedicated to the interests of the farmers.”
What did the minister say about Tamil Nadu?
In response to a question asked about Tamil Nadu in the House, Minister Chauhan said that the central government never discriminates against any state. He said, “I want to tell that I have gone to Tamil Nadu twice so far. Once for the work of the Ministry of Agriculture and the second time for the work of the Ministry of Rural Development. But both times the State Agriculture Minister or Minister of Rural Development did not attend the meeting.”
However, he also said that he is ready to go back to discuss the issues of the farmers of Tamil Nadu. Chauhan said, “We are always ready to serve the people of Tamil Nadu and have deep reverence for them.”
How much money was given for the previous installment?
The last installment under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was released on 24 February. During this period, the central government had sent Rs 22,000 crore to the bank account of 9.8 crore farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). 2.41 crore women farmers were also involved in this.
The government has again urged all the states to identify the farmers who are not yet associated with the scheme so that they can be given the benefit of this scheme as soon as possible.
Who can take advantage of the scheme?
- Farmers who have farming land in the name.
- Those who have completed their E-KYC.
- Those who have registered on the PM Kisan portal.
- You will also get money for the previous installment
The Agriculture Minister made it clear that if a farmer has been missed earlier, then he will also get the money for the previous outstanding installments. He said that we will ensure that no eligible farmers are deprived of the benefits of the scheme. The central government has requested the state governments to identify such farmers and connect them with the scheme as soon as possible so that all eligible farmers can get full benefit of this scheme.
