Passport verification feature introduced in DigiLocker, now every work will be done sitting at home, know how to use it

Now passport verification feature has also been added to DigiLocker. Users will no longer have to visit the center to get their passport verified. They can also do this work sitting at home using their smartphone. With the addition of these new features in the government app, it has become even more useful. This feature in DigiLocker has been launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology (MeitY), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD).

DigiLocker has shared this information through its X handle. MeitY has taken another important step to improve the services of e-governance. According to the information given on X, now Indian citizens can get their Passport Verification Record (PVR) directly from DigiLocker. The way you keep your important documents like Aadhar Card and PAN Card safe in DigiLocker. In the same way, you can now save your passport in it too. Due to the facility of document verification, the process of issuing passport becomes easier.

Users can avail passport verification facility in both the app and web versions of DigiLocker. This facility will especially benefit those users who apply for job applications, visa processing, police verification and other formalities. With the addition of passport verification facility in DigiLocker, documents of citizens can be easily verified.

How to use PVR?

For this, log in to DigiLocker app or website. By going to the passport verification option, you will be able to verify important information like name, date of birth, address etc. Citizens will be able to verify information about documents like Aadhar Card, PAN Card, educational qualification etc. present in DigiLocker.

This is a government app, where you can store your personal and official documents. DigiLocker app is linked to your Aadhar card. In this, apart from government documents like driving license, educational certificate, certificates, PAN card, degree, you can keep your personal documents safe. If you accidentally download a fake DigiLocker app, then all these documents and your personal information can reach cyber criminals.
