The administration of US President Donald Trump has made a major change in its year -old policy over the United Nations Palestinian Refugee Assistance Agency (UNRWA), after which the Trump administration has decided that UNRWA can now be case in the US. In the case earlier, the US said that UNRWA is part of the United Nations, so no case can be run on it. But now the government has changed its mind. It is also said that if there are serious allegations against the agency, then it will have to be answered in the court.

Explain that this information was given by the US Department of Justice through 10-Nenks’ letters filed in a New York court. Talking about the allegations against the agency now, this case has been made by those whose families were killed on 7 October 2023 in an attack on Hamas’s Israel. The families of the victims say that the UNRWA helped Hamas – as allowed to keep weapons in their schools and hospitals, and gave jobs to the people of Hamas.

UNRWA denied allegations
During the hearing, UNRWA lawyers denied these allegations and described them as absurd. Also said that this agency is an assistant organ of the United Nations and should be exempted from legal action. However, now the US Department of Justice has made it clear that the UNRWA will not get a discount in the matter and will have to respond in the court.
UNRWA spokesperson surprised
UNRWA spokesperson Juliet Tauma expressed surprise with this decision of the Trump administration. He said that this is completely different from America’s years old policy. He said that the agency will now firmly put its side in the court and consider the next action.
