India Pakistan News: The smuggling of drugs, weapons, ammunition and other banned things through drones in India from Pakistan remains a challenge for the Indian Border Security Force (BSF). All the drones caught by BSF show that all these were found to be made in China. Most of these drones came from Lahore district of Pakistan and were going towards Amritsar in Punjab. In the last few years, smuggling through the land has almost ended, due to this, most of the smuggling drones of weapons and drugs are started.

Drones being sent from these cities of Pakistan

BSF caught 63 drones in January 2025. In the year 2024, BSF recovered 260 drones and was sent for investigation. According to the Eurasian Times report, the BSF official said, “The most affected states of drones are Punjab and Rajasthan. Ganganagar is the most affected in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Ferozepur, Abohar and Rajasthan in Punjab.” He informed that Pakistan has Lahore, Narowal and Kasur district launch pads.

Investigation of drones dropped by BSF in 2024 shows that 260 drones were flown to demolish consignment in border areas including Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Ferozepur. Investigations have also revealed that these drones were near the locations of Pakistani Rangers. The official said, “The drone range is not long and they came from areas around the international border. Some drones circled several times to demolish the consignment.”

These drones are not able to track easily

In the last few years, drugs, weapons and ammunition smuggling drones have emerged as a major security threat. The year 2023 BSF recovered 110 drones, while in 2024, 260 drones were recovered, which is 136.36 percent increase. Security forces have neutralized 55 percent of the drone found in Punjab. With the increase in the number of drones being sent by Pakistan, their size has also become smaller. These drones fly up to a height of one kilometer and are easily caught.

The official said, “Earlier drones were blowing with a payload capacity of 3-4 kg. It also brings voices and it could be easily seen, but now the drone that is coming from across the border does not make any sound out of it. Most of these drones are made by China. CCTV and PAN-Right-Zoom Cameras are being installed at sensitive places on the border.
